VNZ Club National Championships Division 1 - National Champions
In 2013 the Pines Volleyball Club started introducing Beach Volleyball in Nelson as a way of providing more volleyball opportunities to the region. This is where the Club has seen an opportunity to develop young athletes in the region as part of their club vision of developing a pathway for youth in the game of Volleyball.

As a result of the growth and development of that representative programme (and the fact that the National tournament was a ‘club’ tournament) it was deemed timely, that while still remaining part of the Nelson Association, that a club titled Pines Volleyball Nelson should be formed as a separate identity for the 2014 season. Since that time, the club teams have continued to perform at the highest level.
